After a busy year doing some solo performances, songwriting and arranging the next album, I'm performing again with The Woolgatherers. I'm delighted to say that we are getting some airplay on the BBC (BBC Introducing have featured "One More" to close the show and are planning to use some other songs soon). So Happy New Year to all you listeners, readers and players out there!

I've just listened to Hanging By A Thread, and felt moved to tell you that I thought it a great song, which held my attention throughout. Great words and excellent structure, I really enjoyed it, thank you and good luck with it. Regards, Phil Hooley

Thank you. The highest compliment could only come form the UK. American country music is all rooted to the UK. Applachia is hevily populated by Irish, English and Scottish. Of which I am. American music can either pay tribute to Africa or the UK IMHO.

Just had a listen to One Man Rodeo, very professionally done and great lyrics. You have a great traditional voice for this kind of song. Good luck with whatever you do!

Thanks for the kind review of Rock Your Baby, Joe. I've had a listen to some of your songs and there is some great stuff there. A particular favourite of mine is No Guts, No Glory. That strikes a chord! Now if only I can press the right buttons to put it on my playlist.....

Thanks for the great review, we usually use this one as an opener at live gigs. Glad you liked it.

Thanks Lou, I think the style of the song got a little lost in the mix, essentially it was a one take recording with some vocal overdubs. However I think the guitar solo is great..it's just in the wrong song!

We appreciate your spot on review of "YOU CALL EVERYBODY BABY" I felt the lyrics were too simple in the verses myself. Written at Dunkin Donuts at 6AM on a Sunday morning after a late late night. I will have a listen to your work.

I sympathise! I've had a listen to some more of your tracks, and there are some really great songs, so please ignore my comments! In particular, I really like Holy Land. Good luck in whatever you do.

Thank you for your review of "It Matters"...sincerely appreciated! We are enjoying your songs and love these arrangements. If you own the Track Masters, pls think about putting them up on Songsinc - they will inspire others and could earn you some decent royalties!

Thanks again and Happy Writing!

Thanks Andrea, I'm not sure how to do that.....I'm not signed to anyone so I guess I can do what I like with the songs. I regard myself primarily as a songwriter and would like to place my songs with someone who can do them justice. How to go about this I don't know...any suggestions, kind regards, Phil

Thanks for the review, finally something from someone who is not a "wannabe".
I listened to all five songs, very nice with great tracks, especially Blue Days, reminds me of a couple of songs of mine, and Rock Your Baby

Thanks Malcolm, I think being comfortable in your own skin maybe occurs when you get a few miles on the clock. I've listened to a couple more of your songs, "Company Town" is the business, nice to hear some meaningful lyrics.
